Pinta is an experienced trial lawyer and head of the firm's Medical Malpractice Group.
Pinta has a broad civil and commercial litigation practice and is head of Tyr's Medical Malpractice Group. Prior to joining Tyr, Pinta practised primarily in plaintiffs' medical negligence at top tier personal injury firms. She also spent several years defending physicians in civil and college proceedings and maintaining a broad commercial litigation practice at Lenczner Slaght. Her commercial experience includes employment litigation, shareholder disputes, complex contractual and commercial disputes and class actions. She has also prosecuted cases for the College of Massage Therapists and the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Pinta has years of experience representing plaintiffs seriously injured through obstetrical negligence, surgical negligence, hospital negligence, delayed diagnosis and suffering from catastrophic brain injuries arising from medical negligence. Pinta helps patients pursue cases against doctors, nurses, hospitals, hospital employees, clinics and other health care institutions. Having previously defended physicians, Pinta is one of the few plaintiff-side lawyers who can draw on her experience as defence counsel to effectively advocate for individuals injured by medical negligence.
Pinta is the head of the firm's Diversity Committee and regularly volunteers with the Black Legal Action Centre.
