Devon is a skilled litigator with experience across a range of complex commercial and civil matters.
Devon carries on a complex trial practice with an emphasis on complex commercial disputes and the infrastructure sector. He has represented clients in a variety of court hearings and commercial arbitrations, and at a public inquiry.
Devon brings sound judgment and a results-oriented approach to his dispute resolution practice that maximizes favourable outcomes for his clients. He regularly advises private, commercial and public institutional clients on sensitive matters, including with respect to ongoing commercial disputes, regulatory obligations, and appearances before parliamentary committees.
Prior to joining Tyr, Devon practiced for several years in the litigation department at McCarthy Tétrault LLP. Devon obtained his J.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law where he was broadly engaged in community and public interest activities. During law school, Devon worked with the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights in the field of migrant rights advocacy, the University Affairs Division of Downtown Legal Services (a pro bono community legal clinic), the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, the Indigenous Law Journal, the Critical Analysis of Law Journal, and acted as a peer mentor.
