Julia carries on a litigation practice focused on intellectual property and complex commercial matters.
Before joining Tyr, Julia articled and worked as an associate at a leading international law firm, and clerked at the Federal Court of Appeal. She has acted as counsel on trademark, patent, and technology-related disputes.
Julia received her law degree from the University of Ottawa, where she graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, she worked at the Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic, where she participated in interventions in copyright disputes and class actions before the Federal Courts. In her second year of law school, she was a finalist in the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot. In her final year, she won the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot.
