Zac draws on his experience in international disputes and his background in public policy to tackle complex problems in the courtroom and beyond.
Zac is a versatile litigator whose practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, appellate advocacy, and public and administrative law. Zac offers his clients a blend of trial-readiness and strategic precision developed through managing all phases of high-stakes litigation in U.S. state and federal courts, complex domestic and international arbitrations, and through his clerkship at the Federal Court of Appeal.
Prior to joining Tyr, Zac practiced at Selendy Gay PLLC in New York, where he defended a venture capital firm in a corporate governance dispute, advised an international bank on global litigation strategy in a multi-jurisdictional matter, arbitrated a complex contractual dispute between multinational pharmaceutical companies, and regularly litigated constitutional issues. Before practising in New York, Zac clerked for the Honourable Justice John B. Laskin at the Federal Court of Appeal in Ottawa, where he worked on substantive and procedural matters across the Court’s intellectual property, administrative, and public law docket.
Zac’s foundation in advocacy was shaped by hands-on roles with the Harvard International Human Rights Clinic, earlier litigation internships, and by leadership, negotiation, and mediation training during his joint J.D./M.P.P. at Harvard Law School and the Kennedy School of Government.
He is admitted to practice in Ontario and New York.
